I’m Karen — thank you for visiting my site.My interest in mental health began with my own journey. After experiencing depression and anxiety, I tried Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. While helpful for many people, they didn’t feel right for me; they focused heavily on how I got there rather than how I could move forward.For a long time, I wondered if medication was my only option. But I knew there had to be another way. I began exploring different therapies and completed an Introduction to Counselling course. That’s where I discovered Hypnotherapy — a solution‑focused approach that helps people create change without being stuck in the past.I was amazed by how powerful and practical it was. The more I learned, the more I realised I wanted to help others experience the same transformation. I’m now a Certified Hypnotherapist supporting people through a wide range of challenges.As an ex‑smoker myself, I know how life‑changing it feels to be free. After 25 years of smoking, I simply no longer wanted one — no struggle, no battle. That sense of freedom is something I love helping others achieve.And until recently, I also struggled with my weight. I tried every diet I came across, and nothing worked for long. Eventually, I realised it wasn’t the food — it was my mindset. Once I shifted that, everything changed. Now I’m amazed by what my body can do (not just how it looks). I can eat whatever I want, as long as I truly want it, and I’m fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been.I love what I do, and I’m grateful for all the feedback I receive from people I’ve helped. Knowing I’ve supported someone in changing their life for the better is the best feeling. What a great experience! Having never tried hypnotherapy before I did not know what to expect and to be honest, I was a little nervous. I know now I had nothing to worry about. Karen explained everything first and I eased into it. Never at any time did I feel like I lost control, it just felt really relaxing. The whole experience was just lovely and it really helped with the anxiety I was feeling at the time. My session was via video chat and it worked really well. Karen gave me good advice and tips on how to keep on track. I was actually amazed at how much calmer I immediately felt and got the best sleep afterwards. Karen is great, she makes you feel so comfortable from the initial consultation. I am quite sceptical and had lots of questions about how it would all work but it genuinely does! Karen is really professional and works around your schedule. I had approached Karen for help with weight loss - I am a total comfort eater and mindless snacker! However since I had my hypnotherapy session I haven't felt the want or need to indulge in crisps or biscuits and feel healthier choices are coming to me naturally. No more Unhealthy Snacks!!.. I have had a late night snacking habit in front of the T.V. for a long long time!! (we all know that cup of tea and treat for the 9pm T.V. drama).. One session with Karen, I only occassionally snack and if I do, I make healthier choices fruit & nuts instead of crisps & chocolate.
I am feeling the benefit with some weight loss and knowing I have a healthier diet.

I have never done hypnotherapy before and I was bit nervous, and didn't really know if it will work. I have asked Karen if she can help me with my worrying all the time and she said let's do it, let's make you more relaxed.
The experience was something else, I could hear what Karen was saying all the time, I never felt like I lost control over my body, I was just incredibly relaxed.
The following week was really good challenge to see if and how this session worked and I was pleasantly surprised when I was not losing sleep over everything what was happening.
I definitely would do that again and would highly recommend Karen.

I'm based in Aberfoyle in Central Scotland, but as sessions are held online I can work with you wherever you are based.

  • Initial consultation: £60
  • Follow-up sessions: £55
  • 3-session package: £150
  • Stop Smoking session (90 minutes): £150, with the option of a free follow-up session

Yes. Everything discussed in sessions is confidential, in line with my privacy policy — the only exceptions are rare safeguarding situations, which I'd always be transparent with you about.
